History of Ovomaltine milk chocolate bar:
The Swiss pharmacist Dr. Georg Wander tried to find ways of reducing high childhood mortality due to malnutrition and developed a malt extract. After his sudden death, His son Albert, also a chemist, continued to develop his father’s “nutrition powder”. He enriched the malt extract with other nutritious ingredients and added cocoa for the taste. In 1904, the Ovomaltine fortifying powder was invented.
Using Ovomaltine powder and real Ovo pieces to add some crunchiness, the Ovomaltine chocolate bar was created and commercialised in 1978.

Ovomaltine Crunchy chocolate bars are made in Neuenegg, Switzerland.
In fact, all Ovomaltine products available on our website are exclusively manufactured in Switzerland (note: only the Ovo products with a Swiss flag on the packaging are made in Switzerland).

I bought the Ovomaltine chocolate bar, biscuits and ovorocks! I love this brand of chocolate, I tried it when I was in Switzerland visiting a friend and fell in love! So so so happy that I can now order it from the UK, this is the only place I have found so far which sells this brand of chocolate from the UK! Absolutely delicious! ???????? I remember this chocolate from my childhood although it was the milk version and I have searched to find it again and was surprised when I located SwissDreams.
