History of Ragusa chocolate bars:
Ragusa was created in 1942 by Swiss chocolatier Camille Bloch during a time when raw materials were scarce. By combining praline with whole hazelnuts and shaping the bar into its signature thick rectangular form, he created a product that quickly became the company’s flagship.
The name was inspired by the city of Dubrovnik, formerly known as Ragusa, which Camille Bloch had visited during his travels. The original recipe, shape, and manufacturing method have remained essentially unchanged for over 80 years.
Where are Ragusa chocolates made?
All Ragusa products are manufactured in Courtelary, in the French speaking Bernese Jura region of Switzerland. Camille Bloch has produced its chocolates at this site since 1935, maintaining full control over quality and traditional Swiss craftsmanship.
