Unlike malted chocolate powders available in your local supermarkets, Ovomaltine contains no added sugar and, in addition to being delicious, is an incredible source of nutrients. History of Ovomaltine Original Powder:
The malt drink’s roots are in Berne, Switzerland, where in 1904, the pharmacist Albert Wander invented Ovomaltine. What was started by his father as a nutritious and fortifying powder for children and people with delicate condition, quickly became athletes favourite drink.
Enriched with 13 vitamins, calcium, magnesium and iron, the legendary chocolate powder is packed with healthy nutrients.
Where is Ovomaltine made?
The Bern factory, no longer able to keep with the demand moved in 1927. To this day Ovomaltine Original and other Ovo products (only the ones with a Swiss flag) are made in Neuenegg, Switzerland.

How to prepare my Ovo drink?
The preparation of this chocolate malt flavored beverage takes just a few seconds, and can be enjoyed hot or cold — it’s delicious either way!
Direction:
- Prepare 2dl of hot or cold milk in a cup
- Add 2-3 teaspoons (or 15g) of Ovomaltine Original powder
- Stir well to dissolve the powder and enjoy a sweet cup of a typical Swiss drink!
Notes:
- If it is more to your taste, you can add an extra 1/2 teaspoon of white chocolate powder for additional pleasure
- Milk can be replaced with milk alternatives such as soy, oat or almond milk. The powder can also be dissolved in water
- This product is suitable for a lacto-ovo-vegetarian diet, but isn’t vegan
- Contains no added sugar
